The Story Behind the Little Step Framework™
The Little Step Framework™ started with a simple thought: parents shouldn’t have to feel like they’re guessing their way through their child’s early development.
After more than 22 years of working in early childhood education, we’ve seen how much children learn from the simple things that happen every day. Playing on the floor, talking together, moving around, exploring something new, or even helping with a small daily task—these moments may not look like traditional learning, but they matter.
We’ve also seen how easy it is for parents to feel overwhelmed. There’s so much information out there telling you what your child should be doing, what activities you should try, and what you might be doing wrong. After a while, you can find yourself wondering, “Am I doing enough?”
That’s one of the reasons we created the Little Step Framework™.
We wanted to give parents something practical. Not another complicated programs that adds more pressure to an already busy day, but a clear path that helps you understand what skills your child is developing, what you can work on together, and what may come next.
The framework follows children from birth through age five, with each phase focusing on skills that are important during that stage. The activities are simple and designed to fit into everyday life. You might work on language while getting dressed, build independence during cleanup time, practice thinking skills while playing, or support coordination through movement.
You don’t have to turn your home into a classroom. You don’t need hours of extra time. And you certainly don’t have to do everything perfectly.
Sometimes, you just need to know where to start.
That’s what we want the Little Step Framework™ to give parents: a little more direction, a little more confidence, and practical ways to support their children as they grow.
Know what to work on. Understand why it matters. Know what to do next.
That’s the idea behind Little Step Framework.
One small step at a time.

A Founder’s Note.
When I look at the Little Step Framework, I don’t just see a parenting program. I see a foundation.
One lesson I’ve come to believe is that if you don’t build a strong foundation, you can’t expect a strong structure. Whether we’re building a home or helping a child grow, the same principle applies. Everything that comes later depends on what was built first.
A child’s earliest years are filled with countless little moments that are easy to overlook—a conversation during breakfast, a bedtime story, learning to take turns, asking questions, solving a simple problem, or celebrating a small success. On their own, these moments may not seem significant. But together, they shape confidence, communication, curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
That’s why I created the Little Step Framework.
Not because I believe childhood should be rushed.
Not because every child should develop at the same pace.
And certainly not because parents need to be perfect.
I created it because I believe parents deserve a clear, practical guide that helps them understand what matters, why it matters, and how to encourage it through everyday life.
The Little Step Framework isn’t built around pressure or unrealistic expectations. It’s built around the belief that consistent, meaningful interactions help children develop the skills they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

“Engaging touch and texture activities that encourage sensory exploration and help little ones discover the world around them.”
